The Advanced Porsche Infotainment System: Tips and Tricks for New Users From Your Local Porsche Center

Connect Your Phone

One of the first things to do when you set up your Porsche Communication Management (PCM) System is connect your phone so you can stream music, make and receive calls, listen to text messages, and more. Make sure you have Bluetooth enabled on your smartphone, then select the “devices” menu from the touchscreen. Tap the option that allows the system to search for a new device, then follow the on-screen instructions to pair your phone.

You’ll only have to complete this step once per device, and the process is the same if you want to connect a tablet to the system. Place your phone in the smartphone storage compartment located in the center console to improve call reception quality, and reduce the temptation to look at your device while driving. With a USB cable, you can charge your phone at the same time and set up Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

Customize Your Screen

Set up the touchscreen the way you want it so you can access your most-used apps quickly and easily. From either of the main screens, tap the button with three dots, then select the option to configure your screen. From there, simply drag and drop the options you want to have available at your fingertips from the category menu and organize them according to your preference. You can decide what kind of screen appearance you want, then tap “confirm.”

Save Your Settings

Take advantage of the ultimate convenience offered by the smart key. Set your seat, steering wheel, and mirror positions, as well as the screen layout, temperature, and radio controls, and your key will remember them the next time you get in the car, even if another driver has changed the settings. You can save your settings using the buttons on the driver’s side door: first press “set,” then press and hold the number key you want to use.

There are even more exciting features to explore, and we want to ensure you get the most out of your Porsche. If you need more help setting up your PCM, or if your Porsche doesn’t yet have the latest infotainment system, contact Porsche Monmouth in West Long Branch, NJ to get answers or find out if it can be installed.
