Introducing the 2025 Porsche Taycan: Redefining Electric Speed

It is no secret that EVs are fast off the line, but the 2025 Porsche Taycan raises the bar with a new Nürburgring record lap

It is no secret that EVs are fast off the line, but the 2025 Porsche Taycan raises the bar with a new Nürburgring record lap time of 7 minutes and 7.55 seconds. The sports sedan houses a capable electric motor setup and advanced performance-enhancing technology, ready to leave your local Porsche Center and tear up race circuits.

Introducing the 2025 Porsche Taycan: Redefining Electric Speed

Powerful Electric Propulsion System

Even in its base configuration, the Porsche Taycan smokes most ICE sports cars with its 0 to 60 mph time of 4.5 seconds. Powering its blistering acceleration is a single electric motor on the rear axle, producing 402 hp and 302 lb-ft of torque. An automatically shifting 2-speed transmission improves power delivery when launching from a standstill and switches gears to conserve range when cruising at high speeds. The Taycan reaches a top speed of 143 mph with summer tires.

More competitive performance figures are available at higher trim levels, with the top-of-the-range Taycan Turbo GT beating almost all EV competitors in acceleration. Its two electric motors generate 1,019 hp and 914 lb-ft, enabling the all-wheel drive (AWD) sports sedan to catapult from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.2 seconds with launch control.

Track-Ready Weissach Package

The available Weissach Package equips the Taycan Turbo GT to make the most out of its tremendous power output. It includes several aerodynamic improvements such as a fixed rear wing and front spoiler to improve downforce, aeroblades to reduce drag, and several air control elements that enhance airflow through the vehicle’s underbody. The package also replaces several steel components with aluminum, shaving off 137 lbs from the Taycan’s curb weight.

Adaptive Air Suspension

Standard air suspension with PASM absorbs almost all road imperfections while enhancing traction when cornering. PASM uses sensors to monitor the vehicle’s body movements and adjusts the damping force of each shock absorber based on the active driving mode (Range, Normal, Sport, and Sport Plus). The setup includes a Smart Lift function, which increases ride height to navigate uneven surfaces and saves the location to react automatically next time.

Outstanding Driving Range

The Porsche Taycan comes equipped with an 89 kWh battery that offers an EPA-estimated 274 miles of electric range on the base model. If you travel between states frequently, you can upgrade the driving range to an EPA-estimated 318 miles by choosing the 105 kWh Performance Battery Plus.

Charging the EV is straightforward; you can plug it in at home or almost any public charging station, thanks to its compatibility with both AC and DC chargers. When connected to a DC fast charger, the Taycan recharges its battery from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes.
